Research Project: Co-Doped BaCeZrO3’s for H2 Applications
Barium Cerate-Zirconate perovskites are well-known for their protonic and electronic conductivities, which make them promising materials for hydrogen separations. By doping these materials with transition metals, we aim to introduce a unique combination of catalytic and electrochemical properties in support of hydrogen extraction from biofuels. Our findings indicate that materials structure and properties can be manipulated through appropriate selection of ceramic composition and processing.
